“And God said, “Let there be an expanse in the midst of the waters, and let it separate the waters from the waters.” And God made the expanse and separated the waters that were under the expanse from the waters that were above the expanse. And it was so. And God called the expanse Heaven. And there was evening and there was morning, the second day.”
(Genesis 1:6–8 ESV)
So in the creation account in Genesis God is this being of creative energy, making, building, shaping, forming.... every verse is teeming with new stuff happening... God is either busy making, separating, or filling the universe!
God is not only the maker of worlds but the designer of things and places... I hope we don’t lose that idea when we try and talk about God (which is theology)
We jump on the questions of God’s justice, love, forgiveness, and mercy... but let’s pause and remember that what was originally intended... what was originally composed was full of life, diversity, and intrigue...
What would it mean for us as a people to revisit this creation story for the diversity of it all... that if we are truly made in HIS image then we must learn to be as HE is... after all isn’t the fruit of the gospel story that we follow Christ and imitate Him fully?
See what God has created... around you... right now... this week... flowers, trees, fields, sky, water, sun, moon, stars, people, places....
Acts of creativity are almost spiritual in their behavior because
GOD IS- CREATOR so WE MUST BE- CREATIVE
