FREAKS AND GEEKS WEEK 6- FREAKY THING- FAITH IS LIKE MUSIC
how many of you would be so bold to say that you don’t like any kind of music... (it is a quandary because most would argue that silence is a form of abstracted music)
who taught you what music to like? have your tastes in music changed? how much do you appreciate music?
how much can/do you appreciate music (your music if you make any)
do you defend music/band/songs (no man they don’t sound like them, or yes this record is their best)
do you fight for it (You have to hear this new song by..... it will change your life)
are you passionate about it and share it with others sometimes almost throwing it on their face
are you so entranced that it takes you away to a different place, changes who you are... do you study those that make the music seeing how their lives are intertwined with what they create...do you jam along on rock band/GH/ or on your own to your favorite tracks meditating on every chord and word
“And Jesus answered them, “Truly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what has been done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ it will happen. And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.””
(Matthew 21:21–22 ESV)
“Now faith is being sure of what we hope for, being convinced of what we do not see.”
(Hebrews 11:1 NET)
THIS IS FAITH...
this is faith... the invisible quality of our belief... that even if we don’t fully understand we ask for more.... plead to hear more, know more, be more... it is emotional, passionate, and worth fighting for and worth sharing.... lyrical in nature and harmonious in spirit faith is like music... and ya... you know what... that is a little freaky
FAITH...
this is it... this is the moment that transcends other peoples’ ideas about us and we fall in love with something that is not going anywhere... it is not abstract it is not unreal...
people need it, we worship through it...
